
Q – What is TrueSuite?
A – TrueSuite™ is AuthenTec’s new software application designed to make the use of a fingerprint sensor simpler while expanding its features to include one-touch secure access to online social networks and a PC user’s digital identity. TrueSuite is the result of a 14-month effort by AuthenTec to develop a PC application that is as simple and intuitive for consumers as it is personal and fun.
Q – What are the benefits to using TrueSuite?
A – TrueSuite was developed to promote user discovery of AuthenTec sensors and to make a fingerprint-enabled PC simpler while increasing user convenience and personalization. Other features include a simple and customizable user interface, enhanced PC security, simplified log on to password-protected sites, and simplified export and import of passwords and security settings.
Q – Why did AuthenTec develop its own PC software application? Aren’t third party PC client applications already available?
A – AuthenTec designed TrueSuite to help accelerate the adoption of its products in new low-cost consumer notebooks and netbooks by simplifying user setup and creating an enhanced sensor user experience. Although several other software companies offer a such an application, none offers the ease of use or the expansive feature set of AuthenTec’s TrueSuite.
Q – How is TrueSuite different from other PC client applications?
A – Only TrueSuite is tailored specifically for AuthenTec sensors, particularly its newest ‘smart sensors’ which will be introduced in the coming months. Differentiating features of TrueSuite include an enhanced fingerprint enrollment process and user management of Windows and Web site logons and passwords. PC users can lock and unlock screensavers, files, and folders, and user interfaces can be easily personalized with a wide range of themes and colors. TrueSuite user settings and identities can be easily and securely exported to other PCs. Embedded video and user help screens offer simple guidance to improve the user experience.
Q – What operating systems is the TrueSuite application compatible with?
A –TrueSuite is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP (SP2 and SP3) PC operating systems. It has been optimized for Microsoft's new Windows 7 operating system and the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF).
Q – What browsers is TrueSuite compatible with?
A – TrueSuite is compatible with Internet Explorer (IE) Version 6, IE7, IE8, and Firefox browsers.
Q – Is TrueSuite compatible with all AuthenTec sensors?
A – TrueSuite currently supports PCs equipped with AES2550 and AES1610 sensors, and will also be compatible with future PC sensors from AuthenTec.
Q – Where can I buy TrueSuite?
A – TrueSuite is only available as an embedded feature on select PC models. AuthenTec is planning to offer TrueSuite through multiple sources, and also plans to offer other exciting new application modules.
Q – Is TrueSuite available for download from AuthenTec?
A – No. It is only available from those PC manufacturers who include it in their PC models.
Q – Will TrueSuite still work if the fingerprint sensor on my PC isn’t made by AuthenTec?
A – The newest version of TrueSuite is designed to be compatible with AuthenTec sensors only. AuthenTec may decide to expand its TrueSuite offering to support other manufacturers fingerprint sensors in the future, but the current version of TrueSuite is designed specifically for AuthenTec-equipped PCs only.
Q – Is AuthenTec planning to expand its TrueSuite software offering in the future?
A – AuthenTec plans to expand its TrueSuite offering in the future to include other PC and mobile platforms.
Q – What standard languages are supported by TrueSuite?
A – TrueSuite screens and help files are available in 17 languages, including Chinese (simplified and traditional), Czech, Danish, English, French, Finnish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.
Q - What encryption method is used to lock files and folders?
A – TrueSuite uses the Advanced Encryption Standard 256 (AES-256) encryption key, which is an encryption standard adopted by the U.S. government.
