AuthenTec Releases New Software Development Kit to Simplify Integration for Application Developers Creating Fingerprint Sensor Applications

 

- New TrueAPI™ SDK Enables Third-party Developers the Opportunity to Utilize the Many Benefits of Biometrics within their Windows 7 PC Applications 

Melbourne, Fla., August 10, 2010 – AuthenTec (NASDAQ: AUTH), a leading provider of security, identity management and touch control solutions, announced that it is now offering a software development kit (SDK) for developers to create applications  around AuthenTec smart sensors and TrueSuite® identity management software.   Through its newly released TrueAPI™ SDK, developers can quickly and easily create applications or modify their existing applications to include biometric support that leverage AuthenTec’s security and identity management features for today’s notebook PCs and netbooks. 

AuthenTec’s new TrueAPI interfaces with the Company’s TruePrint® smart sensors and TrueSuite® software, enabling a wide range of new application possibilities that complement TrueSuite applications for replacing website logins and passwords, launching multiple favorite applications and websites, and/or locking files and folders with the single swipe of a finger.  AuthenTec’s TrueAPI is built for Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system and the new Windows Biometric Framework.  The world’s leading notebook OEMs are shipping AuthenTec technology on multiple Windows 7-equipped PC models today, and the installed base of notebooks with AuthenTec’s sensors exceeds 40 million units worldwide, providing application developers a large base of PCs and a growing list of potential customers.
