Wireless Segment Marketing Manager   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

AuthenTec, Inc. is the world leader in fingerprint sensor security, innovation and sales to the PC, wireless, and access control markets.  We are currently seeking a Wireless Segment Marketing Manager in our Melbourne, Florida headquarters.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for key contributions to market development, product plans, launch plans, and program management of fingerprint biometric sensors into the wireless handset market
  • Develop new accounts and support existing handset customers
  • Develop strategic wireless product plans and roadmaps based on customer input, industry and technology trends, AuthenTec strategic direction, as well as your own experience
  • Work with Product Marketing and the silicon and software engineering teams to translate customer requirements into tangible product definitions
  • Assist application and sales team with customer calls and presentations
  • When potential design wins are identified in major accounts, the Wireless Segment Marketing Manager will program manage these accounts from initial interest, design win, design integration and test, and final production.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Must be able to communicate and write strategies, plans, marketing initiatives as well as develop wireless marketing collateral
  • Five years experience in a wireless handset marketing role, preferably in a semiconductor environment
  • Strong leadership and project management skills of state of the art real-time embedded wireless systems
  • Experience in multi-discipline team management involving real-time embedded software integration, analog/digital circuit design and environmental and reliability testing is critical
  • Must have product marketing and various marketing collateral experience
  • Minimum educational qualification is a BSEE/CE. An MBA is a plus



Program Manager   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

Based in the Melbourne, FL headquarters, the Program Manager will drive, coordinate, and manage software development and planning activities to support fingerprint application and driver development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand user conceptual requirements and needs
  • Work with software developers and quality assurance testers to produce the software
  • Draft and manage comprehensive project plans to completion
  • Translate user requirements into software specifications, resource estimates, and schedules
  • Proactively identify upcoming risks, issues and bottlenecks
  • Multi-task against disparate projects and timelines to provide comprehensive support and completion to all the moving parts of each project

Required Education/Experience:

  • A background in planning and managing complex development efforts across the product lifecycle
  • Experience with iterative development and product release management
  • Excellent time management, resource management and planning skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

Packaging Engineer   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

The packaging engineer will be responsible for sustaining high volume production of state-of-the-art BGA packages for advanced fingerprint sensors at our packaging subcontractors.  In addition, the packaging engineer will work with our engineering and marketing teams to develop cost effective, robust and aesthetically pleasing packages for new fingerprint sensor ICs.  He/she will also provide direct technical support to our customers worldwide.  Domestic and international travel will be required.

 

Required Education/Experience:

 

  • BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline or physical science
  • Five to ten years experience in a high volume semiconductor manufacturing environment with strong experience in transfer molding of IC packages
  • Strong working knowledge of substrate design and fabrication
  • Experience in material selection, thermal and electrical properties of IC packages
  • Experience with semiconductor packaging processes including adhesive attach and wirebonding
  • Working knowledge of DOE/SPC and semiconductor package qual testing

Applications Engineer -- PC   (Melbourne, FL)

Requirements:

The applications engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support for integration of biometric fingerprint sensors into PC desktops and laptops with an emphasis on the software aspects of the integration.  This individual is expected to:

  • Provide customers with timely and accurate technical product support.
  • Analyze and resolve support issues in a PC environment running all flavors of Windows.
  • Develop necessary system designs, development, integration and test plans.
  • Review product literature for completeness and technical accuracy.
  • Publish application notes, user manuals, technical articles and data sheets.
  • Travel as needed (domestic and international) - 4 times a year.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum education requirement is BSEE/CS.  MSEE/CS is a plus
  • Three to five years experience in Windows/PC related software development (C/C++) and integration
  • Windows driver development experience is desired
  • Experience with MS development tools is required
  • Manipulation and integration of system BIOS is desired.

Field Applications Engineer -- PC   (Texas)

Requirements:

The field applications engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support for integration of biometric fingerprint sensors into PC desktops and notebooks with an emphasis on the software aspects of the integration.  This individual is expected to:

  • Support the deployment of Device Drivers in multiple versions of Windows.
  • Identify, debug and resolve driver issues on customer’s platform(s).
  • Work closely with the engineering and applications teams to identify/understand issues and drive customer problems to resolution.
  • Effectively interface and be the primary communication between the customer and the technical development team; serve as the primary customer technical interface.
  • Develop necessary system designs, development, integration and test plans.
  • Review product literature for completeness and technical accuracy.
  • Publish application notes, user manuals and technical articles.
  • Travel when needed; domestic and international.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum education requirement is BSEE/CS.  MSEE/CS is a plus.
  • Three to five years experience in software development and integration with emphasis on Windows Device Drivers development (Win32, WDM, etc.)
  • Full understanding of the Windows OS and kernel mode driver architecture is required
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written skills are required, experience in MS Office is desired
  • Direct experience in dealing with customers in pursuit of new product design in and technical support is required
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware architecture and fundamentals is required.
  • Familiarity with various hardware tools, such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and Protocol Analyzers, is strongly desired
  • LINUX device driver development and knowledge of Linux architecture is desired
  • Knowledge of certification processes such as WHQL is desired
  • USB drivers and USB stack experience is desired
